1. The followings terms of agreement form part of the agreement, wherein we - the contractor, undertake to install a Tile/Slate roof, GRP/Fibreglass roof, roof repair, etc as stated in the quotation. For the purpose of these terms and conditions reference to "we", "us" and "our" refer to South East Roofing, the contractor submitting this quotation, and reference to "you" and "your" means the customer/client whose details are listed in this quotation.
2. South East Roofing will provide free of charge written quotations to clients for works requested.
3. Surveys are generally carried out free of charge - subject to certain conditions! Some surveys or quotes may be chargeable. For example ALL properties that are on the market, either for sale, sale pending, sold subject to contract etc. The price for these surveys / quotes is a standard rate of £25.00. Insurance quotes will also be charged at £25.00.
This amount is fully refundable, if we are later instructed by you to carry out any of the required works.
4. QUOTATION is works carried out as cost quoted unless the client/customer specifies extra work.
5. ESTIMATE is cost estimated for works, which may be subject to change if unknown conditions arise.
6. Instructions detailing acceptance for client is required in writing before works commence, either written letter or via email. We require written acceptance 7 days prior to the works commencement date, within this 7 day period the client has the right to cancel the order.
7. The contract between South East Roofing and the client is valid for 8 - 12 weeks from the quotation date. After this time it may be necessary to re-quote due to increase cost of materials.
8. After written acceptance of Quotation has been received by South East Roofing, if materials or labour cost increases are incurred by South East Roofing, this will not be passed on to the client if written acceptance is made within 8 - 12 weeks of Quotation date.
9. Where possible, the works will commence on the date agreed and will be completed in most cases, subject to weather, within a reasonable timescale. Where detailed dates for commencement are presented, the contractor reserves the right to re-schedule works where delays have been incurred through adverse weather. Once works are commenced if you delay completion or hinder progress of the work through lack of access to the property, we - the contractor will be entitled to charge reasonable costs for expenses that have been incurred through your action.
10.South East Roofing cannot be held responsible for extension of specified times on contracts due to delays caused by additional instruction by the client, third parties, unavailability of materials from third parties, adverse weather conditions, explosions or circumstances beyond our control, *force majeure.
11.Any materials on site in conjunction with each contract remain the property of South East Roofing, until payment is made in full.
12.All materials of works damaged by third parties remain the responsibility of the client whilst works are in progress. Client must pay for any damage/loss of materials or works by third parties unless valid proof is produced that South East Roofing have been negligent.
13.You agree to give us all necessary access to your property so that we can undertake the work to the agreed schedule. If access is required to your neighbour`s or adjacent property, it is your responsibility to obtain written permission and provide us - the contractor with a copy prior the commencement of works. You also agree to facilitate the use of all mains services including electricity and water so that we can carry out the works.
14.LOCAL PLANNING / BUILDING CONTROL CONCENT: If any planning authorisation is required for the work, this should be obtained by you prior to the commencement of the contract (if not included in this quotation).
15.BUILDING REGULATIONS: Current Part L regulations require thermal insulation values to be upgraded to meet minimum Government standards when either:
a. a flat roof is installed to a new building or newly built extension;
b. where the old "decking" is removed from an existing roof prior to the new flat roof being installed.
Should you choose not to upgrade to the recommended insulation / thermal value, you hereby confirm that you do so entirely at your own risk and absolve South East Roofing from all liability therein.
16.All invoices are due upon completion. Any invoices not paid within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed, will be subject to an interest charge of 13% or if that amount equals less than £50 a £50 minimum charge will be made.
17.All invoices are stated as the total amount.
18.Payments can be made either by BACS or Cheque payable to South East Roofing and quote the Invoice number as Reference.
19.South East Roofing carry full Public and Employers Liability Insurances Public Liability Insurance of £2,000,000.00, Employer`s Liability Insurance of £5,000,000.00
20.South East Roofing are very conscientious of our work and would like the opportunity to take photographs of various aspects of works completed. If you object to photographs being taken of your roof when completed, please inform our office in writing or by email. These photographs may be used for South East Roofing advertising, but be rest assured that no details will ever be revealed as to the identity of the building.
21.If a problem arises during works or to guaranteed work, we must be notified with a reasonable time span such as 48 hours of the problem occurring. Failure to notify us will result in the guarantee being void and South East Roofing not being held responsible for any damage. This applies to vacant properties.
22.No third party must have access to the guaranteed work with out prior notice and approval, this will void any guarantee.
23. No work is guaranteed unless stipulated in writing.
